About
After 20 years in various software development and management roles, Kuamka founder Steve Baxter concluded that far too many software products suffered from terrible design. Sometimes this was because the business people and software engineers were talking different languages. Sometimes it was because the software team didn’t really understand enough about the problem they were really trying to solve. In many cases it was both.
Kuamka is Swahili for “awakening”. Steve started Kuamka to try and make a small difference. He has worked with software teams in both large and small organisations to help them improve the way they design and build software. He has worked with management teams to help them understand software engineers, and get the most out of their engineering teams. He has helped re-architect complex products and move legacy products to the web. He has also built one or two small products of his own along the way.
